JBT Marine (www.ribsforsale.com) have just been invited the all new Earls court boatshow to be held in December 2007. We are not sure if we are going yet, but this is what they said in their advertorial says sorry no pics as I only cut and pasted the text:

Maybe its worth a look?

Children under 16 will receive complimentary admission and have the opportunity to learn much at the show. products, both power and sail, never before seen at a show in London will be on view, such as Cruisers Yachts, Malbec, Catalina,Prinz, Cobia and Westline.
In addition to the extensive list of exhibitors who have already signed up for the first Whyte & Mackay Show we are proud to be supported by maritime communities, organisations, historical associations, legends and heroes.

GIPSY MOTH IV TO BE STAR CENTRAL ATTRACTION
Gipsy Moth IV, which recently celebrated the 40th anniversary of her world record circumnavigation by Sir Francis Chichester by completing a second trip around the world, is to make her appearance at the Whyte & Mackay Show, thanks to Paul Gelder of Yachting Monthly and UKSA. The historic yacht, now owned and maintained by UKSA and used to teach disadvantaged youth the art of sailing, will be the central attraction throughout the entire nine day event and fully accessible for all visitors. In addition, lucky winners of a competition held at the show will be given an opportunity to sail on Gipsy Moth IV on the Solent.
IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE PRINCE’S TRUST
Organisers of the Whyte & Mackay Earls Court Boat Show were delighted to announce a unique partnership initiative
with The Prince’s Trust to help raise money for HRH the Prince of Wales’ youth charity. Prince’s Trust Ambassador, Kenny Logan, recently took part in the JP Morgan Round the Island Race with two young people from The Prince’s Trust on a Swan 56. This encapsulates our vision of taking the Whyte & Mackay Show out of Earls Court and into the community.

THE GUINNESS BAR RETURNS TO EARLS COURT
The Official Guinness Special Events Bar, often referred to in boating circles as ‘The Black Office’ or the ‘Irish Embassy’, and long considered the focal point for visitors, crews and exhibitors at boat shows, is to return to
Earls Court with a large hospitality area.

PARTNERSHIP WITH SUNSAIL
Sunsail have formed a partnership with the Whyte & Mackay Earls Court Boat Show. The partnership includes an exhibit at the show, which will provide opportunities for visitors to learn about worldwide chartering of yachts, training courses, corporate regattas and beach clubs. In addition, a variety of co-branded activities throughout the season include on the water presence at both the recent JP Morgan Round the Island Race and Skandia Cowes Week 2007.

COWES COMMUNITY
The Cowes Community will be creating an authentic trading feature at the Whyte & Mackay Show. Participants include Cowes Yacht Haven, Ocean World, Murphy & Nye, Beken of Cowes, AAA Marine and Murrays Fish Restaurant.
The Cowes feature will provide a warm and hospitable atmosphere and overall fun experience for visitors to Earls Court
as it plans to recreate the heart and spirit that makes Cowes such a popular and special place in the hearts of the sailing
fraternity worldwide.

INLAND WATERWAYS CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL
Whyte & Mackay welcomes the Inland Waterways community back into the warmth of Earls Court 2 for a dedicated Christmas festival. Exciting new products, interaction, innovation and hospitality in a brand new show that will enthuse, educate and entertain.

THE HONDA FORMULA 4-STROKE
POWER BOAT SERIES
A Whyte & Mackay Earls Court Boat Show team is racing in the 150 Series and there will be opportunities for competition winners to experience the thrills of powerboating. Several of the boats which are taking part in the Series will be on display.

THE STEVE CURTIS
POWERBOAT DISPLAY
To celebrate the history of power boating, Steve Curtis MBE, eight time Class 1 World Powerboat Champion, will anchor the Powerboat Village at the Whyte & Mackay Show. Visitors will be able to see a display of historic and record breaking powerboats along with modern high performanceoffshore powerboats.

ATTRACTIONS
A festive feature in Earls Court 2 will provideentertainment and fun for families, while a Hall of Fame in Earls Court 1 will take visitors on an educational journey through maritime history, with a chance to meet sporting heroes and sailing legends. Rolling fashion shows will feature high street brands and provide entertainment
for all ages.
An environmental feature will provide an awareness of how we can all help to protect our coastlines and marine life, as well as to highlight environmentally friendly products that are new to the market.

VISITOR MARKETING
Visitor marketing is an essential element of the lead up to the show. While we aim to interact with many communities through the summer and autumn, a dedicated visitor marketing campaign will target customers that are new to the maritime environment. This will take the form of advertisements in publications, local, regional and national TV and radio, plus viral and web-based marketing designed to create an awareness at every level.

EARLS COURT
Over the last four years Earls Court has benefited from a multi-million pound upgrade to its lighting, rigging, air-conditioning, toilets and restaurant facilities, allowing this official 2012 Olympic venue to host yachts and the boating communities for years to come.

RIBs, Blogs, Baby’s, office managers and singer song writers

July 19th, 2007 | Posted in Ribs | No Comments »

RIBs, Blogs, Baby’s, office managers and singer song writers, strange combo at the best of times.

Eliza, New member of JBT

The reason that the blog has not been updated for a while is because, Louise, My wife (who also ran most things in the office) and I have just had a baby girl! I am sure there are many of you that already might be able to imagine what an impact this seems to have on daily life, not just because our sleep is now being stolen, but also the office must continue to function at full speed at probably our busiest time of year selling RIBS!

So how have we coped you might wonder? Well, Beverly, who is ultimately going to run the office at JBT Marine from the end July hasn’t started yet full time as she is still handing over at her last job.

Josiejo Singer office manager
So instead we have been helped out by singer song writer Josie who some of you may already have met. If you haven’t had the pleasure yet click this link to hear what she sounds like. So not only can she sing, but she can also keep us in order …Great work Josie!
If all goes well, Josie is now going to concentrate on her singing career, so if you like her songs please buy some and tell you friends.

Back to Babys, People often ring up JBT Marine (second hand rigid inflatable boat specialists) and tell us that they have to sell ther RIB because they are having a baby and they don’t think that RIBs and babies mix………..

Well over the coming weeks, Louise and I intend to hit the Solent chop and find out if this is really true or not. So watch this blog for photos etc..
